“Son why have you treated us so? ” Mary quesions Christ .
How many times do those following the contemplative path face the same question from different people?
Family and friends who feel rejected . On a human level separations are always painful.
Even those in the church question.
You must understand that when Gods love realy touches a soul it is like a fire that becomes the most powerful desire.
Following this path is not a rejection of anyone inside or outside the church.
It is simply doing what a person has to do to be true to themselves and God.
Why does some one choose a particular order / community or place of solitude
and when such things are decided stand firm in that despite everything?
The Religious Life Vocation is different to the Diocesan Vocation in this respect.
A Diocesan Priest may move from place to place and still fulfil their vocation.
In Religious Life the Order and place lived in is part of the vocation on a much deeper level.
In the end there is only one answer the contemplative can give “Here I stand I can do no other.”
