Benedict XVI says his Tuesday-Sunday trip to the United States will be a “missionary experience,” with which he seeks to promote “a time of spiritual renewal for all Americans.”
The Pope affirmed this today before leading the Regina Caeli with thousands gathered in St. Peter’s Square.
“With the various groups I shall meet, my intention is to share Our Lord’s word of life,” he affirmed.
Mentioning the theme of his trip to the United States, “In Christ is our hope,” the Pontiff added: “Christ is the foundation of our hope for peace, for justice, and for the freedom that flows from God’s law fulfilled in his commandment to love one another.”
Benedict XVI also asked for prayers “for the success of my visit, so that it may be a time of spiritual renewal for all Americans.”
